The Dawn of a New Era: Security Unit of AAU Receives New Security Uniforms

The Security Division of Ambrose Alli University has experienced a lot of improvement. There have been improvements in infrastructure, equipment, training of personnel and provision of uniforms. The Professor I. A. Onimawo’s administration has focused on re-energizing the institution’s security arm through the provision of equipment to improve the quality of their service.

On Tuesday, 10th of September, 2019, the Entrepreneurship Centre of the University presented to the Vice Chancellor and his Management team the new customised security uniform they produced. The Vice Chancellor in turn handed the new uniforms to the Chief Security Officer of the University.

The Chief Security Officer in his address to the Vice Chancellor expressed immense gratitude to the University Management for its continued support to the Security Unit. He noted that the new uniforms would boost the confidence of the Security Personnel of the University, and also improve the respect accorded by the public as they wear them.

He assured the Vice Chancellor that they would do their utmost best to ensure that their mandate to secure the lives and properties of every member of the University community is upheld. He said that the University Management recently provided the security men with raincoats, walkie-talkies and inverter to supply power to the security building. He added that there is an on-going renovation of the security building.

Furthermore, the University has engaged in perimeter fencing to reduce trespassing into the University.

The Director, Entrepreneurial/ Career, Engr. (Prof.) O Odia thanked the Vice Chancellor for the opportunity given to produce the Uniforms. He assured that the uniform were custom-made and of high quality.

The New Security Uniforms include a black face cap, brown shirt, black trousers, belts and boots for each Security Staff. This ushers in a new era for the Security Division of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
