Ambrose Alli University Holds 36th Matriculation

Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma is on the way to becoming one of the best Universities in Nigeria.  The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ignatius A. Onimawo made this declaration at the 36th Matriculation Ceremony of the Institution held on the26th of March, 2019.

Congratulating the students numbering 7,570 (Seven thousand, five hundred and seventy) at the Cordelia Agbebaku Auditorium. Professor Onimawo said this year’s event is significant considering the academic transformation the University has passed through since the 8th of February, 1982, when the first matriculation ceremony was held with a total number of 408 students.

The Vice-Chancellor recounted the monumental successes achieved by the University under his stewardship to include Computer Based Examination (CBE), infrastructural development, abolition of social vices, e-governance, deepening of ICT, emphasis on research, staff development and foreign linkages amongst others. He attributed it to the funding by both the Federal and State government making financial resources available for the result achieved so far.

He urged the new intake to abide by the rules and regulations of the University in the courses of their study, while admonishing them to stay away from cultism and other anti-social behavior that could hinder their smooth academic sailing in the University community.  He congratulated parents and guardians who have presented the young elites for academic tutulege and character moulding.

The high point of the ceremony was the oath taking, administered by the Registrar after the Deans of various faculties took turns to present their matriculating students before the Vice-Chancellor. Thereafter there was much jubilation of carnival capacity within the campus.

A total number of 7,570 students were matriculated into eleven Faculties of the University.
