MASTER IN EDUCATION DEGREE IN ADULT EDUCATION


FIELDS OF SPECIALIZATION

Each candidate is required to specialize in one of the following:

  1. Adult Education
  2. Community Development
  3. Social Welfare
  4. Industrial Relations
  5. Communication Arts in Adult Education and Community Development.



OBJECTIVE

The M.Ed. Degree is designed to advance the knowledge and skill of Adult Education practitioners and to prepare needed Adult Education manpower in the private and public sectors of our changing society.


REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

  1. Candidates must register for and pass all the prescribed courses.
  2. Candidates are also expected tp present Reseasrch project to be examined in accordance with the Graduation regulations.
  3. Each candidate must demonstrate in University teaching in his area of specialization.

 

COURSE EVALUATION

  1. Courses shall be evaluated in terms of course units. Candidates who failed or unable to write their examinatios in any of the prescribed course may be allowed to do so at the next available opportunity.



ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidate for admission to the degree shall normally be graduates of Ambrose Ali University, or of other University.

DOCTOR PHILOSOPHY DEGREE IN ADULT EDUCTION UNIT


OBJECTIVE

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph D) Degree is designed to research in Adult Education and related fields.


REQUIREMENTS GOVERNNING COURSES AND EXAMINATIONS

  1. The programme consists of course-work and Thesis.
  2. Courses shall be evaluated in terms of course units
  3. Full-time candidates shall be required to register for not less than 20 units and not more than 36 units.

 

 

MASTERS IN EDUCATION DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY RELATED AREAS IN EDUCATION


OBJECTIVE

  • To provide high level applied psychologists who will provide the much required manpower for Universities and higher institutions both in Nigeria and elsewhere.
  • To provide consultation in psychology related matters to organizations and public institutions – especially Universities in this country and elsewhere.


REQUIREMENT FOR GRADUATION

  1. Candidate must register or pass all the prescribed courses at 700 level.
  2. Sandwich Students shall register for first semester courses during the first long vacation and second semester courses during the second long vacation.
  3. A candidate may be allowed to transfer not more than fifteen (15) units from any University approved by the senate
  4. Units in research methods and research project are not transferable.


DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D)

OBJECTIVES

  1. To train high – level research workers who will be able to expand the frontiers of psychonlogical knowledge as it applies to the solution of pressing human problems.
  2. To produce high-level applied psychologists who will provide the much required manpower for Universities and Higher Institutions both in this country and elsewhere.
  3. To provide consultation in psychology – related matters to organizations and public institutions – especially Universities in this Country and elsewhere.
