Nomination Into Vacant Position Of Convocation Representative In Council PDF Print E-mail
Members of Convocation are hereby informed that the Convocation position in Council has been declared vacant by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sam. O. Uniamikogbo, FNIM in accordance with the Ambrose Alli University Law 1999 (As Amended).

Consequently, members of Convocation who wish to fill the vacant position are advised to send their application, duly nominated and signed by two members of Convocation to reach the Deputy Registrar (Vice-Chancellor’s Office) not later than 12 noon on Wednesday, 19th May, 2010.

Meanwhile, election to the position will take place as follows:
Date:- Friday, 28th May, 2010.
Time:- 1.00 p.m.
Venue:- Multi-Purpose Lecture Theatre.

According to a release to this effect issued by the Deputy Registrar (Vice-Chancellor’s Office), Mr. E.I. Isiramen, Convocation as provided for in the University Law 1999 (As Amended) page 34 section 5 states as follows:-

1.  The Convocation shall consist of:
(a) the officers of the University mentioned in the First Schedule of this Edict;
(b) all members of the academic staff within the meaning of this Edict;
(c) all other persons whose names are registered in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (2) below.

2.  Without prejudice to paragraph (1) of this article, a person shall be entitled to have his name registered as a member of the Convocation if:
(a) he is either a graduate of the University or a person satisfying such requirements as may be prescribed for the purposes of this paragraph and
(b) he applies for the registration of his name in the prescribed manner and pays the prescribed fees.
