AAU Appoints Two Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellors |

The University Community is hereby informed that the Governing Council on the recommendation of Senate has approved the appointments of two Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellors. They are Prof. A.U. Omoregie of the Faculty of Agriculture as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. (Mrs.) A.O. Ekundayo of the Faculty of Natural Sciences as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
Their appointments are sequel to the expiration of the tenure of the former Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Prof. S.O. Uniamikogbo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. I.B. Igbinosa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) who served under the present Vice-Chancellor for a period of 4 years, effective from 27th September, 2004 to 27th September, 2008.
On the other hand, Professor Omoregie and Prof. (Mrs.) Ekundayo are both tested hands having served as Heads of their respective Departments as well as Deans of their respective Faculties in addition to holding other academic and administrative positions in the University.
The appointments of the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellors take effect from 28th September, 2008 and will lapse on the 3rd of June, 2009 when the tenure of the present Vice-Chancellor will end. We join the University Management to congratulate Prof. Omoregie and Prof (Mrs.) Ekundayo on their appointments and wish them a fruitful and successful tenure in office.
Also we thank Professors Uniamikogbo and Igbinosa for their past services to the University in their capacity as former Deputy Vice-Chancellors of this University. We wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavours even as they have returned to their respective Departments.
