The inauguration ceremony of the new EXCO of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, (SSANU), AAU, Ekpoma branch was held in the Senate Chambers on Friday 13th June, 2008.

The ceremony was chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. S.O. Uniamikogbo on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D.O. Aigbomian, KSM, JP with a charge to the newly elected EXCO to put their differences behind them as their victory at the polls was for the whole SSANU members.

In his short but impressive speech, the Vice-President,  Western Zone of the Union, Mr. Sokoh Glory congratulated the Electoral Commission for a job well done.  He described the election as wonderful, free and fair.  He thanked the out-gone EXCO for their past services and enjoined them to cooperate with the new EXCO for the betterment and benefit of the great Union.   He also thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for the cordial relationship between the University Management and SSANU and appealed for its sustenance.  He finally congratulated the new EXCO for their success at the polls.

4.    Mr. A.O. Ikhioya    -    Assistant Secretary
5.    Mr. S.T. Abu        -    Treasurer
6.    Mr. Sunday Omofuma   -    Financial Secretary
7.    Mr. A.O. Onobhayedo   -    Publicity Secretary

The swearing-in of the newly elected EXCO by the Vice-President, Western Zone, Mr. Sokoh Glory climaxed the ceremony. The ceremony was well attended by members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).

Meanwhile, the Union has written to express its appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, the Electoral Commission and members of the University community for providing a conducive atmosphere for the successful conduct of the election and the swearing-in ceremony.
