University Wins Dress Code Award Again PDF Print E-mail

The Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma has won for the second consecutive time the Dress Code Award.  According to an NGO-Image Makers International Organization, Abuja, the University was adjudged winner in the Dress Code category.  Second in this category is the University of Abuja.  Over 50 Universities were assessed under the Dress Code category.

Announcing the award at a press conference in Abuja, the spokesman of the Organization, Alhaji Mohammed Biu, who is also the Chairman of the Selection Committee noted that the winning of the Dress Code Merit Award by the University for the second year running shows “that the University Authority and the students have imbibed the spirit of the award which in essence is to challenge the recipients to keep and improve in their standards”.

Alhaji Biu praised the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D.O. Aigbomian, KSM, JP, the staff and the Students’ Union officials for what he termed “their admirable control and constant orientation of the students on the need for good morals”.

Furthermore, Alhaji Biu commended the Vice-Chancellor and the staff for “displaying sterling qualities and exemplary leadership qualities in their own personal adherence to a good dress code as an example to students under them”.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Image Makers International Merit Awards for educational institutions in Africa was instituted in Zaria ten years ago and has annually awarded merit to tertiary institutions in various categories – Academics, Campus Maintenance, Discipline, Sports, Proper Dress Code and student/staff relationship.

We congratulate the Vice-Chancellor, the University Management and the students for adding yet another beautiful feather to the already-adorned cap of honour of this University.
