Council at is 148th meeting held on Thursday, 13th December, 2007 considered the recommendation from the meeting between the University Management and ASUU-AAU Executive Committee members and approved same as follows:

 

1.    Payment to Academic Staff in Graduate Programmes

(a)  That the University should assist academic staff under-going Master’s  and Doctorate Degree Programmes;
       
(b)  That for Degree of Masters, the sum of  N50,000.00 (fifty thousand Naira) be Approved per session with effect from 2007/2008 session;

(c)   That for a Doctorate Degree Programme, the sum of N70,000.00 (Seventy thousand  Naira) be approved per session with effect from 2007/2008 session; and

(d)  That the maximum number of years, in the first instance, for the programmes should be two years and four years for Masters’ Degree and Doctorate Degree  Programmes respectively.

2.    Conferences/Workshops/Seminars    

       Council also considered and approved the recommendation that the University should continue to sponsor academic staff for Conferences, Workshops and Seminars.
