Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates into the following programmes:
(1) DEPARTMENT OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION (COURSES AVAILABLE)
(a) Mathematics Education (b) Physics Education (c) Chemistry Education (d) Biology Education (e) Pre and Primary Education (f) Library and Information Science
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT (FOUR YEAR PROGRAMME) A candidate must have NCE with at least a merit pass in 2 subjects excluding Teaching Practice or 5 Credits passes at O/L or TC II at not more than two sittings. Mathematics and English Language are compulsory, except in Pre-Primary Education where a pass in Mathematics is acceptable. >>FIVE YEAR PROGRAMME 5 credits passes in O/L or TC II plus a pass in NCE or Diploma.
>> SIX YEAR PROGRAMME (i) Candidates must possess WASC/SSCE/NABTEB with passes in at least five subjects at credit level at not more than two sittings which must include English Language.
(ii) Candidates with Grade II must have merit passes in five subjects at not more than two sittings which must include English Language. Or (iii) ACE Ordinary pass in any related discipline. Or (iv) Merit pass in Diploma of Ambrose Alli University or any other institution recognized by Senate.
(2) DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION AND MANAGEMENT (COURSES AVAILABLE)
(a) Educational Management (b) Guidance and Counseling (c) Geography Education (d) Economics Education (e) French Education (f) English Education (g) History Education (h) Political Science Education (i) Religion Education
>>FOUR YEAR PROGRAMME Passes in five (5) subjects at credit level in WASC/NECO/NABTEB including English Language at not more than two sittings or TC II merit or Credit passes in five subjects including English Language at not more than two sittings. NCE pass at merit level in two subjects excluding Teaching Practice. Diploma pass at merit level. A pass in Mathematics is required for those Social Science based subjects. >>FIVE YEAR PROGRAMME Passes in five subjects at credit level in O/L or TC II including English Language at not more than two sittings and NCE/Diploma with Ordinary pass.
>> (i) Passes in five subjects at credit level in WASC/SSCE/NABTEB or TC II Merit passes including English Language at not more than two sittings. Or (ii) ACE Ordinary pass in any related discipline.
(3) DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION (COURSES AVAILABLE)

>>FOUR YEAR PROGRAMME
In additions to (5) credits passes in TC II, WASC, GCE, NABTEB or their equivalent at not more than 2 sittings which must include English Language, candidates must possess a minimum passes in any of the following:
(i) NCE Merit passes in 2 subjects. (ii) NCE Merit passes in double major subjects. (iii) Diploma with Merit pass in any institution recognized by Senate. (iv) R.N (N.R.N.) Public Health Nursing Certificates, Health Superintendent Certificate or their equivalent. (v) Pass in (2) A/L subjects.
>>FIVE YEAR PROGRAMME
5 Credit passes in O/L or TC II plus “pass” in NCE or Diploma.
>> i) Candidates for Physical or Health Education must pass at least five subjects at credit level at not more than two sittings in WASC/SSCE/NABTEB/TC II or its equivalent. Passes must include English Language. ii) ACE Ordinary pass OR any other related Certificate in Sports.
iii) NOTE: EVIDENCE OF A PASS IN General English/Use of English NCE/Diploma/ACE levels is accepted in lieu of credit Ordinary Level pass.
(4) DEPARTMENT OF VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (COURSES AVAILABLE)
(a) Business Education (Accounting Education) (b) Business Education (Secretarial Education) (c) Agric Education (d) Home Economics (e) Technology Education
Candidates for the four year programme must possess one of the following: (i) Two merit passes in NCE excluding Teaching Practice in relevant area. (ii) A merit pass in relevant Diploma of Ambrose Alli University or any other institution recognized by Senate.
In addition to either (i) or (ii) above, candidates must possess five (5) credits passes in WASC/NECO/NABTEB which must include English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. A merit pass in TC II may also be accepted as equivalent. A pass in Mathematics is acceptable for Secretarial Education.
>>FIVE YEAR PROGRAMME Candidates for five year must possess 5 credits passes in WASC/NECO/NABTEB or TC II at not more than two sittings.
HOME ECONOMICS EDUCATION
>>FOUR YEAR PROGRAMME Candidates must possess one of the following:
i) Two merit passes in NCE excluding Teaching Practice in any relevant areas (Biology, Agric Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Health Science and Integrated Science). ii) A merit pass in relevant Diploma of Ambrose Alli University or any other recognized institution by Senate. iii) In addition to (i) and (ii) above, candidates must possess five (5) passes at credit level in WASC/NECO/NABTEB or TC II at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language and Mathematics.
>>FIVE YEAR PROGRAMME Candidates for the five-year programme must possess one of the following: 1. One merit or Ordinary pass in NCE in any relevant area (Biology, Agric Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Health Science and Integrated Science). 2. A pass in Diploma of Ambrose Alli University or any other institution recognized by the Senate.
In addition to (1) and (2) above, candidates for the five-year programme must possess 5 O/L or its equivalent. A credit or merit pass in TC II may be accepted as O/L equivalent. A pass in General English or Basic Mathematics in NCE or Diploma may be accepted as equivalent O/L credit pass.
>>SIX YEAR PROGRAMME (ALL AVAILABLE COURSES IN VOC & TECH.) 1. Passes in five subjects at credit level in WASC/NECO/NABTEB/TC II merit passes including English Language at not more than two sittings. 2. ACE Ordinary pass or any other related certificate in the discipline from any recognized institution.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Request for application forms should be addressed to the Registrar, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and accompanied by a Non re-fundable application fees of N10,000.00 (Ten thousand Naira only) in Bank draft made payable to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
All requests for application forms should be made in person. All completed applications with all necessary enclosures must be returned to reach the Registrar not later than the 25th of October, 2007. Any late request for application forms will attract a penalty fee.
