The Council of the Mycological Society of Nigeria has deliberated upon the on-going turmoil in the Nigerian intellectual space. The President of the Society has caused a statement to be released to this effect:
The Mycology Society of Nigeria is barely four years old. Though pretty young for a nations that is fifty years old, it is never belated to start a developmental affair. We came into existence as a society from the weaning hands and intellectual sagacity of renowned researchers like Professor R. O. Alibi and late Professor S.O. Alasoadura.
All 2009/2010 UME candidates who applied to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma as Institution of First Choice with a UME score of 190 and above are invited to attend a screening exercise in the University on the days and venues indicated below.
The Mycological Society of Nigeria will hold its 4th annual conference with the theme, “BIOTECHNOLOGY: REVOLUTIONIZING MYCOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN NIGERIA”, from Sunday 25th October - Wednesday 28th October, 2009, at the Ambrose Alli University, Faculty of Science, Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria.
